Due to the pandemic-related suspension of classroom instruction, school ingesrate is currently almost exclusively digital. To ensure participation in the classroom, a digital terminal is required for each student. This also applies to children whose parents are dependent on public benefits under the Social Code 2nd Book (SGB II).
If students or their parents receive benefits from the Jobcentre and digital devices are not provided by their respective schools to participate in the lessons, the need can be made available by application.
The costs can be covered retroactively from 1 January 2021. Thus, from this date, proven expenses can still be recognised retrospectively if necessary.
Costs can also be covered if end devices are available in the household but cannot be used for school purposes (e.B. because the device does not meet the school’s technical specifications or if the parents use the device permanently in the home office). In the case of the printer, however, it can be assumed that a powerful device per household is sufficient.
In principle, all pupils up to the age of 25 who attend a general or vocational school are entitled. Students who receive a training allowance are also eligible.
Notes on the
application: A separate application must be submitted to the Jobcentre. Please print out the application and have your school confirm the need for the digital device. Please also include proof of the costs incurred in the application.
