From 01.01.2023, the citizen’s income for basic security is expected to be introduced. Everyone who was previously entitled to unemployment benefit II or social benefit is entitled to the citizen’s income.
“Thebasis of cooperation should be trust,” states the website of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS).
The application for Citizen’s Income should be simple and digitally accessible.
If you are already receiving benefits under SGB II, you do not need to submit a separate application for Bürgergeld. The job center remains responsible for you.
